To Die for – Kourtney Kardashian’s Balenciaga City Bag

19 Oct

I am a huge designer handbag gal and I believe that once you carry a designer handbag you never want to go back to a store brand bag again.  I am in love with Kourtney Kardashian‘s Balenciaga City Bag in black.  It is a high ticket item at $1395.00 but we can all dream.  Kourtney uses this bag a lot.

Papparazzi photos show her wearing this bag with casual outfits like jeans and sweaters and also with dressier items like dresses and heels.

It seems that it is a good “go to” bag.  Unfortunately not all of us can grab a $1400 bag as our staple item.  😦

Check out this look a like that may work for you without breaking the bank.

To Die For – Anthropologie Items

11 Oct

After a “share” from a friend I am totally obsessed with Anthropologie.com’s merchandise.  I love the vintage, one of a kind look and feel of their pieces. They are on the pricey side but some would be great pieces for fall that you could easily mix with other items in your wardrobe.  Here are my favorites

Flanders Fields Cardigan, – This would look great paired with a fitted white tee and a pair of skinny jeans and boots $128
Alice in Autumn Sweatercoat,- I am dying of this coat, not only the stunning mustard color that would look amazing paired with jeans and a tee or a cocktail dress but the cut is great and would work for many body types $168
Sweeping Stitch Heels, – These amazing suede pumps look super comfortable with a stacked thick heel.  They come in black which could be paired with so many items or a vintage inspired turquoise that would look stunning with black, brown, gray, well any color really  $118
Orielle’s Filigree Cuff, – stunningly beautiful $48
who’s the fairest mirror, – Love this, great for a putting on your makeup.  Love the fairy inspired twig detail $148

Check out Anthropologie’s  site for more amazing finds. Enjoy!

Zara Leopard Scarf…as seen on Kourtney Kardashian

4 Oct

So I saw a photo of Kourtney Kardashian in a Zara Leopard Scarf and I am in love with it!!! The problem is that I cannot find the thing online for the life of me.  Anyway I found a pretty good substitute for around $35 on yesstyle.com.  This scarf would be a great addition to any wardrobe as it would look great with black or brown, paired with skinny jeans with a long sleeve white tee and boots or with your little black dress.  Super versatile peice that allows people that love leopard to shout it proud and others that are afraid to wear the print to use it sparignly.

Love it…Hope I can find it.

To Die For: Justin Bent Rail Boots

1 Oct

So I have never been the outdoorsy type or the type of girl that likes to get dirty but living in Louisiana I see my share of people in western wear and have always secretly wanted a great pair of boots.  With true cowboys and girls I hear that the look or fashion of the boot is second to the quality and fit.  I came across a pair of boots that have me wanting to embrace my inner cowgirl, Justin Bent Rail Boots in Puma Tan…they are just to die for, beautiful distressed brown leather that would go well with lots of different outfits as well as look really fashionable for the fall.

Cowboy boots are really big for the fall and are in all of the trendy stores but why not go straight to the source and buy the brand that the real cowgirls wear while they are riding horses and walking in dirt.  Justin Boots are of the highest quality and each pair is made with over 16 square feet of natural leather, 16 feet! When I hear something like that it makes me understand the price tag and appreciate the quality of the product that I am dying for. The boots range from about $140 to $399 depending on the style you choose.

The Bent Rail line offers a crazy amount of colors and styles that would go with anyone’s wardrobe.  My favorite are the Puma Tan, I love the aged look to the leather and the color is fantastic.  These would look great over a pair of skinny jeans or paired with a super feminine dress for the fall.  There are also really cool color combination that I have never seen before.  The Vintage Cognac with mint green cowhide tops are super unique and would definitely be a conversation starter.  I also love the Black Desparado which is a really traditional black on black pair with off white stiching and and bit of a distressed look.

Try pairing your boots with Skinny Jeans or leggings first, this is the best way to ease yourself into wearing real western wear.  Some of my favorite skinny jeans/leggings are Old Navy’s Rockstar Demin legging in the dark wash and in black.  I wear them almost every day and they would look great with your Justin boots over the jean and a bit of an over sized top, try this Charlotte Russe beaded button front top, its girly and sexy while still being casual and having a little bit of “Little House on the Prarie” attitude which will pair well with your Justin Bent Rail boots.

If you are feeling a little bit daring try a short feminine dress in a light fabric and print like this Urban Outfitters Lucca Couture Ruffle Dress paired with a traditional boot like the Justin Bent Rail Black Desporado.  A cute vintage inspired shoulder bag, like this Forever 21 scalloped bag really brings out the color of the print while keeping the look soft and girly. Finish the look off with some bangles like these from Old Navy and a cute feminine earring like this amazing $1.50 pair from Forever 21 and you have a great “date” look for fall that is casual and comfortable while still being sexy.

I hear that the comfort of these boots are second to none and what’s not to love a pair of shoes that are super trendy, beautiful and comfortable…you are not getting that with your Christian Louboutin‘s!

Justin Bent Rail also does a line of men’s and kids boots!

How to Rock: Military Style

30 Sep

If you have looked in any magazine lately you will know that military styled apparel and accessories are really hot right now.  This style is something that I really like, not b/c of the overbearing authority of the military (I mean really who is not gonna let the gays in?? That’s another post) but becuase it incorporates some of my favorite things, neutrals and earthy colors like browns, tans, greens etc and it allows for really unexpected combos like super “hard” structured jackets paired with dresses or dresses paired with comabat boots and so on.  I hope you like the two looks that I have put together but some of your best best for great military peices will be Forever 21, Wet Seal,Urban Outfitters etc.

Dress – Wet Seal Military Tube Dress- $25
Shoes – Wet Seal Chain Heel Bootie– $35
Earrings – ASOS Military Style Vintage Stud Earrings – $10
Bracelet – Fossil Button Cluster Bracelet – $75
Gloves – Burberry Leather Military Gloves – $325
Bag – YSL Le 6 Bag in Industrial Rubber in Camel – $1295
Makeup – Mac Eyeshadow x 4 in Burmese Beauty – $36

A lot of the items listed above are really military so if you are not quite sure of the trend mix one military item like the dress with bronze shoes you already own and some simple bangles.  Or make this dress more casual with a cute denim or canvas fitted jacket and boots.  Also you may notice that some of the these items are not budget friendly and fit into the “To Die for” category…I couldn’t resist on the gloves and bag! Also these peices would look great with other items in your wardrobe making the simplist white T suddenly tough and hard by adding these stud earrings and a bronze smoky eye with the Mac shadows.  The sky is the limit and these are all great peices that could easily be worked into your current wardrobe and last until a later season when “military” is not the “in” thing anymore.

Jacket – Wet Seal Faux Leather Military Jacket – $24.99
Tank Top – Scoop Front Tank by Top Shop in Peach – $12
Jeans – LEVI’S 524 Too Superlow Womens Skinny Jeans – $40
Shoes – No longer available
Earrings – Fossil Button Coil Earrings – $24
Nail Polish – OPI nail polish in Tickle My France-Y – $3-$9

I love this casual look.  I decided to pair peach tones in the tank and nail polish to add a bit more feminity to the look.  The jacket is a steal for the rich look and cool appeal that comes along with it.  Even if your not into the military look this jacket paired with a white V neck T and boots would be stunning on any day.  You could also pair this jacket with more standard accessories like plain leather boots and gold jewelry to tone down the military style in the look.

Hope you venture out to work one of this season’s greatest trends into your wardrobe

Chic Dresses for Baby/Toddler

23 Sep

I am always on the lookout for really different, unique items for baby and I found a new love. Classy Sassy Girls on Etsy.com. The main item showcased on this designer’s account is a rufflely girls dress but there are slight variations of the dress that are really stunning and would be great for photos or that special event.

My Favorites

Chiffon Rosette Dress – This dress is a one shoulder silhouette that is rarely seen in kids fashion and is totally unexpected.  This dress has sweet girly appeal while still being something chic and cool that mom would wear.  Its custom fit and can be made into a crazy amount of colors – $120.00

Ivory Chiffon Ruffle Dress – This dress reminds me of the flapper era in the 20s.  Its got a simple satin tank top with a chiffon ruffle bottom.  This dress as well is custom made to your measurements and can be made in almost any color.  This would be a great alternative to a cheesy off the rack flower girl dress and the bride would be guaranteed to love it – $120.00

Black and White Polka Dot Pettiskirt – While this is very cliche cute little girl it has a cool edge.  It’s made of a silk white and black polka dot fabric with a black chiffon like fabric underneath.  It could be paired with a dressier top and really made into an outfit for an event and would be great for photos.   – $70.00

Their models have really cute hair accessories and I looked all over the etsy site for the designer or a link to a person selling these bows/hair accessories but can’t find them 😦

Hope you like these items as much as I do
